How to know the server mode of the SSAS runing Instance


  Suppose you have not part of installation of your SSAS instance. Now you want to know which mode your   SSAS instance is running then you can use below tips:
    There is a three mode of SSAS instance installation:
1.       Multidimensional and Data mining (Default).
2.       Tabular mode.
3.       Power Pivot mode for share point.


 So here the quick way to know is, look the open the SSMS and connect to the SSAS instance and look the logo of running server:




The second way of the knowing this is msmdsrv.ini file, you can look the deployment mode property in this file. The values of the value of this property identifies the server mode. Valid values are 0 (Multidimensional), 1 (SharePoint), or 2 (Tabular).
